“Where’s the video guys?” I asked.
“They’re in finals week. They’ll be here late,” Ryan said.
You could tell it was going to be a tough morning yesterday when I got to work and only producer Ryan was there.
“Where’s the video guys?” I asked. “They’re in finals week. They’ll be here late,” Ryan said. It is, of course, 3:22 in the morning. This is when the three or four of you and I get together. You sleep. I wake up and leave you a little something for the morning.
9am Thursday - After the morning, I skidaddled across Hammond to the memorial at the Local 1010 of the Steelworkers union. This is always a solemn occasion. It’s when they honor local 1010 workers who have died at the mill.
It’s 2am and I’m up. It’s the only way that the three or four of you get to follow along with My Radio Life. The rest of the day’s too busy.
On the show yesterday, Jeremy Rivas of the Bricklayers came in and we talked about getting dirty with mud and bricks. It attracts an earthy, athletic type. This blog is about radio. I chronicle what it’s like to live a life of local radio. I talk about the death of radio and its rebirth into something else. Through it all, the three or four of you and I share a love for radio.
